The American Red Cross has announced a blood shortage, stating the national inventory has “plummeted more than 25% in July.”
On August 5, the agency said that blood drives have been impacted due torecord-setting heat,in a time when summer vacation and other seasonal activities often impact the turnout in drives.
As a result, “due to the supply of type O blood being so low, the organization has had to reduce distributions of this vital blood type in recent weeks to below hospital comfort levels,” the agency announcedin a press release.

When it comes to attending the boss’s annual Labor Day cookout, one Redditor claims they’ve had enough.
“It’s a nice gesture, but it’s also about an hour away from our work and home (on a normal day) and more like 2 hours with Labor Day weekend traffic,” wrote the Redditor. “Worst of all, it’s smack in the middle of a long weekend, and I truly value my family time (I have 3 kids under age 10).

Well, there goes the “memorial Coke.”
In aposton Reddit’s “Today I F—– Up” (TIFU) forum, a Redditor recalled the time their friend accidentally drank the Coke they had been saving for over a decade because it had their late mother’s name on it.
“The day after she passed, I happened to come across a bottle with my mom’s name on it. Her name isn’t that common, so I took as one of those ‘she’ll always be with you’ kind of moments,” the Redditor added.

A Redditor is asking for her community’s opinion after banning her roommate from using her dorm fridge, which she claims did not initially go over well with their mutual friends.
“My dorm is a corridor-type one and it only has one kitchen per floor,” wrote the Redditor, who described herself as a 24-year-old woman.
“On each kitchen there are two fridges for common use, but there aren’t many people who keep their food in there, for these fridges are tiny, and there are approximately 70 tenants on each floor," she added.
