An Ohio girl had her dream come true, participating in a father-daughter dance despite being hospitalized while waiting for a heart transplant.
In May 2024, Ava suffered from a severe sinus infection that led to her going into heart failure. She has since been at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital waiting for a donor heart.
“It can be scary sometimes, and you just have to be brave and just stay positive to help make it better,” Ava toldWKYCafter being in the hospital for 200 days.

According to a press release from theNorth Yorkshire Policein England, the girl was at home in the town of Malton around 4:15 p.m. local time on Friday, Nov. 1, when Yorkshire Ambulance Service responded to reports of a dog attack.
According to police, one of the girl’s family members “secured” the dog inside a car after the attack, and officers seized the animal when they arrived.
