The wait is over for Team USA’s 2022 figure-skating gold medalists!
Two and a half years after the2022 Winter Olympics, the Team USA athletes who won gold in figure skating in Beijing finally received their gold medals in a ceremony at Champions Park in Paris.
The athletes —Nathan Chen, Vincent Zhou,Karen Chen, Alexa Knierim,Brandon Frazier, Madison Chock, Evan Bates, Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue — were presented their gold medals alongside the members of Team Japan, who received their silver medals.

American flags will fly at half-staff at all U.S. federal buildings in honor ofJimmy CarterduringDonald Trump’s presidential inauguration in January.
The 39th U.S. president and Nobel Peace Prize winnerdied on Sunday, Dec. 29, at the age of 100 at home in Plains, Ga.
According to theflag code, the U.S. flag should be flown at half-mast for the next 30 days at “all federal buildings, grounds, and naval vessels” across the country and its territories in Carter’s memory.

Both the men’s and the women’s relay teams won gold in the 4x400-meter relay finals on Saturday, Aug. 10, and Masai Russell also came in first in the women’s 100-meter hurdles final.
The relay teams closed out the night with a bang, though, with the men besting Botswana and the women taking the win over the Netherlands.
Rai Benjamin, Christopher Bailey, Bryce Deadmon and Vernon Norwood even set an Olympic record in the men’s final, finishing with a time of 2:54.

The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee has placed an unnamed employee on administrative leave after allegations and reports about a coach’s sexual abuse came to light, the Associated PressreportedThursday.The committee did not identify the employee it placed on leave, according to the AP, however the only coach named in the allegations was U.S. paralympic skiing coach Gay Colliander.
Boutot told the outlet she asked the coach to stop, however she alleged that Colliander refuted her and instead threatened that his life and her career would be damaged if she spoke out.
