Though he survived, Li’s recovery was arduous. The father of a son with special needs, he was unable to work for more than a year, making it increasingly difficult to support his family.
Li was fortunate to survive. He suffered gunshot wounds to the chest, legs, arms and hips. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Li was in and out of consciousness and required extensive, life-saving surgery.

A news anchor for NBC News in Washington, D.C. is stepping away from the desk after a recent segment prompted concern from audiences.
NBC4 News issued a statement on-air and on itswebsiteon Monday, Dec. 2 saying that news anchor Leon Harris, 63, would be “stepping away” from the broadcast to “focus on health issues" after appearing “unwell.”
