A California man has been detained after being accused of communicating with the teenage shooter who killed two peopleat the Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wis., on Monday, Dec. 16.
The man was detained “after he was discovered plotting a mass shooting with the Madison Wisconsin shooter,” a Carlsbad police officer alleged in the documents. Paffendorf is “required to surrender all firearms and ammunition” within 48 hours, per the order.

A Southern California man is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting nine women, one of whom died as a result of the drugs.
Prosecutors say that from 2019 to 2021, DiGiorgio abused the women after drugging them in his homes in Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach, Calif. He was charged on Oct. 18.
The district attorney’s office did not identify any of the women, but court records indicate that the murder charge is linked to a 2020 incident.

A female deer has been spotted near the Hollywood Reservoir with a bone lodged in her mouth, and wildlife officials are working to locate and save the animal.
Howells told the outlet that he believes the bone is a femur. He added that deer “chew on bones infrequently, and they look to get minerals from bones that they are not getting from [elsewhere] in their diet.

Jose Emiliano Zamora, who was a student at a Santa Clara, Calif., school, died on Nov. 6, at the age of 14, according to an onlineobituary.
TheSanta Clara Unified School Districtconfirmed the death in a video statement on Facebook a week later on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Jose’s father, Jose Bautista, toldFOX 4 Newsthat the teenager had started at Santa Clara High just a few months ago.

The police officer, identified as Officer Kenney Merenda, lost control of his bike and it skidded into those along the parade route at approximately 6 p.m. local time on Saturday, Dec. 7,according to a statement from Palm Springs City Government.
Merenda and nine others suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The California Highway Patrol is now investigating the accident, theLos Angeles Timesreported.
Witnesses described seeing Merenda pop a wheelie, but Palm Springs public information officer Kitty Alvarado toldtheDesert Sunthat the reports were “a rumor.
