On Monday, Dec. 23, SportsCenter anchor Randy Scott announced the death of colleague Zach Jones during a broadcast.
Jones, a research manager, died on Sunday, Dec. 22 at age 41 after two years of treatment for colorectal cancer.
“You may have never seen him on your screens, but you saw his work on our live golf coverage or women’s college basketball coverage, or on any of our SportsCenter shows,” Scott said.

“Out of absolutely nowhere, one night I’m sitting on the couch and my heart rate just went from normal to 165 like that,” he tells PEOPLE.

Wedding bells are ringing forEste Haim!
Haim could be seen smiling widely as she placed her left hand over her head, showing off the square-cut diamond ring on a golden band on Thursday, Feb. 13.
She could also be seen wearing a light blue shirt with the bedazzled phrase, “I’M TAKEN.”
PEOPLE reached out to a Haim rep for comment about the engagement, but did not immediately hear back on Saturday, Feb.
