Caylin Monroe was sentenced to 65 years in prison on Friday, Nov. 15, about a month after a jury found her guilty of murder and neglect of a dependent resulting in death, according to online Warrick Countycourt records.
The charges stem from the 2022 death of Monroe’s 3-month-old son, Silas Chance-Kent Scott, whose autopsy showed he died of starvation,PEOPLE previously reported.

An Indiana firefighter has died after he reportedly experienced a medical emergency while battling a local house fire.
Crews took “quick and aggressive action” to revive Sanders, who was transported to St. Vincent Randolph Hospital “where he succumbed to his illness.”

Sanders is remembered inhis obituaryas “an amazing father, brother [and] uncle” who “had no fear and lived life at full speed.

Richard Allen, convicted ofkilling two teenage girlsin the woods near Delphi, Ind., in 2017, was sentenced to 130 years in prison on Friday, Dec. 20.
Allen received the maximum sentence possible from Judge Frances Gull of Allen Superior Court in Fort Wayne, Ind.,according to the New York Times.
“I’ve spent 27 years as a judge, and you rank right up there with the most heinous crimes in the state of Indiana," Gull told Allen, per the Times.

An infant is dead and at least 10 others are infected amid a multi-state outbreak of listeria tied to ready-to-eat meat.
On Friday, Nov. 22, theCenters for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) shared an update featuring the latest numbers connected to the outbreak, days after the recall of multiple Yu Shang Food ready-to-eat meat and poultry products.
According to the organization, the infant who died was a twin, and listeria was found in a sample from both them and their mother.
