A man and his dog were rescued from their sailboat off the coast of Florida as Hurricane Helene approached the state.
The 36-foot sailboat “became disabled” and “started taking on water approximately 25 miles off Sanibel Island” on Thursday, Sept. 26, according tothe U.S. Coast Guard.
In the brief clip, a rescuer can be seen getting lowered into the water before swimming over to the disabled sailboat, where the man and dog were waiting.

Police have arrested a man believed to have shot and killed a 7-year-old boy on a tribal reservation in Colorado.
Hight was wanted on murder and gun-related charges in connection with the Dec. 11 fatal shooting of a minor, who was inside a home on the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation, in Towaoc, Colo., according to thethe Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Update: In a statement to PEOPLE, the NYPD identified the suspect as Sebastian Zapeta-Calil. Police described the suspect as “an unlawfully present Guatemalan citizen” who had been deported in 2018. According to police, Zapeta-Calil has been arrested but not yet charged.
A suspect has been arrested for allegedly killing a woman after setting her alight on a subway train in New York City.

An Oregon man has been arrested and accused of stalking and harassing University of Connecticut star basketball playerPaige Bueckers.
ESPN,The Oregonianandlocal WFSBin Connecticut report that Robert Parmalee was arrested and faced an online judge Monday on charges of electronic stalking and harassment, and breach of peace.
If he is released on bond, WFSB reports that the judge told Parmalee that he is not allowed to go to Mansfield, where UConn’s campus is located, and he’s not allowed to have contact with Bueckers, 22.
