A missing 12-year-old boy has been found dead in Virginia Beach three days after he disappeared while going to a friend’s house.
An AMBER Alert for Juan Sebastian Mejia Acevedo was issued early on Saturday, Jan. 25, according toVirginia State Police.
Juan’s parents called police around 9 p.m. local time on Friday when he did not come home from a friend’s house, according topolice.

The family of a 20-year-old college student from Virginiawho went missing last week while in the Dominican Republicsaid the “ambitious” future medical professional was just hoping to enjoy her spring break vacation.
“She wanted to have a nice break with her friends in Punta Cana — she came with her friends on March 3rd,” Subbarayudu Konanki, the father of Sudiksha Konanki, a junior from the University of Pittsburgh, told local radio stationWTOP.

A 76-year-old woman who went missing for four days was found alive in a remote part of an Oregon county, authorities said.
In a news release, theLane County Sheriff’s Officesaid Cheryl Leigh Guajardo, of Bend, was last believed to be driving in the Lowell area on Tuesday, Dec. 3. An investigation into her disappearance began the following day.
The sheriff’s office said a coordinated search of the area involved dozens of volunteers, deputies, and personnel from several assisting agencies.

Family members are reacting to new details about the disappearance of an Alabama man more than a month ago.
Police said security camera footage from the night of Dumas’ disappearance showed the man entered a liquor store on University Drive with two women just before 10:30 p.m. local time.
Dumas “was later seen leaving the store” with the same two women, and did not seem to be “under any distress at the time,” authorities added.
