A New York man was found dead after a days-long search, and police say that when they found his body, his missing dog was right there, keeping watch.
According to theLewis County Sheriff’s Office, Cody Johnson, a 39-year-old man from Watson, was last seen at his home at around 2:30 a.m. local time on Saturday, Oct. 12, and was reported missing a day later.

Shamra Felkel, 49, was found dead in Hartsville, S.C., on Dec. 4, Darlington County Coroner J. Todd Hardee confirms to PEOPLE.
Hardee tells PEOPLE Felkel’s remains were found buried beside an old, inoperable dry well. Her body had been placed in a “hollowed out” area beside the well, he says.

“We believe it is the remaining missing duck hunter and we are in the process of positively identifying him through DNA analysis,” authorities said.
