Mississippi Teen Dies, 2 Others Injured After Tree Falls on Home amid Severe Storm: 'It's So Devastating'

A Mississippiteen was killed, and two others were injured, amid a severe weather storm in the state this weekend. Natchez, Miss. Police Chief Cal Green identified the victim as 18-year-old Tykeria Rogers in a statement to local news outletWLBT. Green said Tykeria died when a tree fell on the front part of the house on the evening of Saturday, Dec. 28. Emergency crews and neighbors reportedly used chainsaws in an attempt to save Tykeria, according to the outlet, before rescue workers arrived on the scene to clear away branches and rescue those inside, theNatchez Democratreported.

MLB Player Danny Jansen Becomes the First to Ever Play for Two Teams in Same Game

The Boston Red Sox catcher, 29, became the first player in Major League Baseball history to appear in the same game for two separate teams. The unlikely quirk of a stat happened because the two teams were finishing out a game from June that was suspended due to rain. When the original game was rained out in the second inning on June 26, Jansen was actually at bat — and playing for the Blue Jays.
