Aweddingvenue owner in North Carolina has been arrested after police say he defrauded several engaged couples out of “hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
The Union County Sheriff’s Office (USCO) said in asocial media poston Wednesday, Jan. 29 that Jason Lottmann — the 41-year-old owner of local wedding venue Champagne Manor, located in Monroe, N.C. — was arrested on “numerous felony charges” in connection with an alleged fraud scheme.

A cognitively-impaired North Carolina woman vanished after getting into an strange car — and now police are looking for her killer.Just before 10 p.m. on Sat. A New Jersey community is in mourning following the loss of one of their own.
Eric Wise, a detective and father of two, died at age 44 on Friday, Feb. 14, days after he obtained injuries froma tragic fall, according to his online obituary.
“His commitment to his family, his work, and his community is evident in the countless lives he has touched through his compassion and dedication,” the tribute continued.

A state of emergency has been declared for Long Island, N.Y., after several brush fires affected the area this weekend.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul made the announcement on Saturday, March 8, after the fires blazed through the area as a result of strong winds.
“I am issuing a State of Emergency as Suffolk County fights brush fires in the Pine Barrens. I have spoken to @ExecEdRomaine and offered any necessary State resources,” Hochul, 66,wrote on X.
