More than 1,200 people have been told to evacuate after a fire broke out at a battery plant in California.
On Thursday, Jan. 16, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office confirmedon X(formerly known as Twitter) that evacuation orders had been issued following the blaze, which occurred at Moss Landing Power Plant at around 3 p.m. local time, perCNN.
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office told the outlet that the fire was not connected to the Los Angeles wildfires.

More than 100 rabbits have been rescued from a home in Tennessee after an “overwhelmed” owner asked for help rehoming them.
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, the Humane Society of the United States and the McKamey Animal Center arrived at the residence in Chattanooga, where they found the homeowner and the large number of animals “living in extremely unsanitary conditions,” per apress release.
“The rabbits appeared to suffer from a variety of ailments including flea infestations, hair loss and injuries typical of overcrowding,” the press release stated, adding that “multiple nursing litters and rabbits of various ages were found burrowing in furniture throughout the residence.

A team of international researchers recently made a thrilling discovery when they found hundreds of matching dinosaur footprints on opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
The footprints show where the dinosaurs were last able to cross between South America and Africa millions of years ago before the two continents split, according to a press release from SMU.
“In terms of their shapes, they are almost identical," said Jacobs.
