A 16-year-old boy died in Tennessee after he hit a black bear while driving on the night of Saturday, Nov. 23, according to multiple outlets.

Citing Tennessee Highway Patrol,WVLT,WATEandWBIRreported that the boy, whose name was not released, was driving in Campbell County in the northeast part of the state at around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday.

The crash occurred on Stinking Creek Road, which is in a secluded mountainous area near the Kentucky border.

The passenger, another 16-year-old boy, was injured as a result of the crash.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, the highway patrol said, according to WATE.
