24-Year-Old Woman Enjoying the Beach Is Swept to Her Death by Large Wave in Thailand: Reports

Kamilla Beliatskaya, 24, was in Koh Samui, Thailand, on Friday, Nov. 29 when the incident occurred, according toThe Bangkok PostandThe Times of India.

Accordingto Khaosod English, Beliatskaya went to a “popular viewpoint” in the area with a foam mat, apparently to relax and exercise, but was pushed into the water soon after.

Once the rescue team arrived, only Beliatskaya’s pink foam mat could be seen floating in the water.

Beliatskaya was found dead on Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui on Saturday, Nov. 30,The Bangkok Postreported.

Police reportedly received an alert that the woman’s body had washed ashore at around 11 p.m. local time around half a mile from where she went into the sea.

PEOPLE has contacted local police and the Russian Embassy in Thailand for comment
