Adorable Rescue Cat Wears Cute Costumes, But Can Also Jump 8 Feet High!

Calvin is a cat who sports cowboy hats and boots — but he’s so much more than his cute costumes.

“I love everything about this cat,” says Ariel Hsieh, a 33-year-old marketing analyst from Austin, Texas. “He’s always up for new experiences.”

Hsieh adopted the now-7-year-old domestic shorthair when he was just 4 months old. His foster parent had already trained him to walk on a leash, so Hsieh continued leash training — and took it to the next level, teaching him tricks ranging from high-fives and waving to turning around. With the help of a friend, she moved on to agility exercises; he can now jump through hoops, into her arms, or over obstacles from stacks of paper towels and toilet paper to board games.

“We have a pretty good bond,” the proud cat mom says.

Calvin can even jump eight feet from the counter top to her shoulder, and during the Olympics, showcased his own high-jump skills in a series of videos posted to Instagram. Oh, and he knows how to use the toilet, too.

“He is super smart, but he’s also the snuggliest thing,” Hsieh says.

Skills aside, Hsieh also dresses Calvin in adorable outfits ranging from cowboy hats and coordinating boots to spa wraps and sunglasses and even a chicken and waffles costume.

“He’s not really scared of new experiences,” Hsieh says. “He’s pretty much up for new things and that’s always been great!”
