Mackenzie and Lovensky Levasseur’s path to parenthood was anything but ordinary.
In anow-viral TikTok, the Levasseurs share their journey from years of fertility issues to ending up with four sons in a matter of months.
After struggling to get pregnant, and one heartbreaking miscarriage in 2017, the couple decided to open their hearts and home to foster children. Little did they know that their decision would change their lives forever.
On April 1, 2023, the Levasseurs received their foster care license. They got an unexpected call about newborn triplet boys needing a home just days later. Despite initial hesitation, Mackenzie felt a sense of peace about their decision. “We just felt really strongly that it was our calling,” she tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The couple welcomed two of the triplets home on April 11, with the third joining them a week later after some extra time in the hospital. But the surprises did not end there. Just three days after bringing the first two boys home, Mackenzie discovered she was pregnant.
“You feel all of it like an absolute rush of emotion,” she recalls her thought process at the time. “You’re terrified because you’re like, ‘How are we going to do this?' But you have this overwhelming excitement too.”

Despite the common advice in foster care to “not get too attached,” Mackenzie believes in the importance of forming strong bonds. “That’s why you do foster care … they need you to love them like that,” she emphasizes.
Six months into fostering the triplets — Legend, Lazarus and Leonardo — the couple decided to adopt the boys. Now the Levasseurs are a happy family of six with the triplets being only eight months older than their little brother.
While Mackenzie admits life with four boys close in age is admittedly chaotic, it is ultimately filled with love and joy.
“There are a lot of days where we just look at each other and we’re like, ‘You just have to embrace the crazy a little,' ” Mackenzie says. “If you can sit back and just remember that you prayed for this, you know that you wanted this, then all of the crazy is just totally worth it.”

Their initial TikTok video, which garnered more than 3 million views, has inspired many considering adoption. “This is so inspiring,” writes one user. “These boys were meant for you.”
Mackenzie offers the advice: “It is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it has been absolutely the most rewarding.” She encourages potential foster parents to speak with those currently fostering and reminds everyone that even if they can’t open their homes, there are many ways to support foster families and children in need.
