In one photo, theSuccessionalum goes shirtless, opting to wear nothing but dark sunglasses and slacks with the band from a pair of Calvin Klein’s famed underwear peeking out.

“I’m incredibly honored and excited,” he said. “I’d worked with Mert [Alas, campaign director and photographer] on something else years ago, and had such a great time working with him as well. It’s very fun, and he works fast, so it’s a very energetic set, which fits me.”

The photo shoot leans into the fall aesthetic with the Swedish actor being bathed in golden light in nearly every shot. Skarsgård embraces the brand’s newCalvin Klein Studio collection, which focuses on “elevated essentials” as he models sleek looks that take him from “dawn till dusk.”

The outfits not only fit Skarsgård like a glove, they also suit his own personal style — which he toldEsquirevalues quality over quantity.

“I think it’s very important that when you go out to buy stuff, [you] buy stuff that you obviously love and you’re excited to come home and try on, but pieces that will last and sustain you,” he said. “You want to build a relationship with those pieces, or at least I do.”

He added, “I love having stuff that I’ve worn for many years, and that I have many memories from wearing.”

Ultimately, Skarsgård told the outlet that comfort trumps all else, since he’s “like a 5-year-old when it comes to clothes.” TheTrue Bloodstar certainly looks comfortable in the brand’s new menswear collection as he sports ’90s style straight jeans and a mustard-colored button down open all the way to his waist.

While most of his photos feature the actor baring his chest, he also goes full fall in a sweater that a wool sweater that wouldn’t be out of place in a Nora Ephron film. (Who’s up forWhen Alexander Met Sally?)

“It was wonderful to reunite with the Calvin Klein team for this campaign,” the actor said in a statement. “There was such a great energy during this shoot, I’ve worked with Mert and his team a couple of times before and it’s always a blast. I loved the styling – it felt sophisticated and sleek, but still very relaxed and playful.”
