TheEdge of Seventeenactress and the Buffalo Bills quarterback have been romantically linked since May 2023, when they were seen on a date night in New York City. After months of keeping their relationship private, the pair wentInstagram officialin July 2024 when Allen posted photos of them spending time together in Paris. That November, Allenpopped the questionin a rose-filled proposal in front of a body of water.

Days later, after the Buffalo Bills defeated the San Francisco 49ers during a regular season match-up, Allen was asked during a press conference about his emotions during the game following the engagement, to which the quarterback replied, “felt good. Felt free.”

On Feb. 6, 2025, the pair made their red carpet (and ring!) debut at the NFL Honors, where Allen earned the award for most valuable player. In his acceptance speech, the athlete gave his fiancée a shout-out, saying, “You’ve been my rock, you’re my best friend. I would not be standing on the stage if it weren’t for you.”

Outside of wearing it in public, theHawkeyestar hasn’t shared many details about her ring. But according to Olivia Landau, a GIA-certified gemologist and founder ofThe Clear Cut, the diamond appears to be about 3.5 to 4 carats.

The round brilliant diamond rests on a thin platinum solitaire setting, per Landau. “Her engagement ring is timeless and traditional. She opted for a classic ring vs following trends.”

The ring is estimated to cost between $70,000 and $150,000

Steinfeld’s diamond engagement ring has a high price tag. According to Landau, the ring is estimated to cost anywhere between $70,000 to $150,000, depending on whether the diamond is natural.

Allen proposed to Steinfeld on Nov. 22, 2024, and announced the news in a jointInstagram postthe following week.

NFL starTravis Kelcechimed in with his well wishes, writing, “Congratulations!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻.”

“They’ve been head over heels from the start,” the source said. “Their families are thrilled.”

Allen was “nervous” about Steinfeld finding out about the proposal

Two weeks after the pair got engaged, Allen opened up about the proposal details during a Q&A session in Steinfeld’sBeau Societynewsletter — including that he was “nervous” about her finding out about the surprise.

“It was hard to keep secrets from you and have other people in your life keep secrets from you,” Allen recalled in the newsletter, perE! News. “Multiple times throughout the day, a song would come on and I would tear up thinking abouthow special our day was going to be.”

“The funniest thing was that we woke up and were getting ready for brunch and you jumped on the bed and said, ‘Can we get married already?!? What are you waiting for??!’ " Allen recalled.

“I replied, ‘Just give me a little more time.’ Little did you know I was about to propose to you …” he added.

The NFL star also shared what he said to Steinfeld when asking her to marry him, including that he “couldn’t wait any longer.”

“I said I can’t wait to start a family with you,” Allen revealed. “I said your full name, and I asked you very nicely. I said please.”

“I didn’t blow it nor did anyone else,” he added. “You were extremely surprised, you said yes, and that was all that mattered to me.”

Allen also wrote that it feels “unbelievable” to be engaged “to someone who is so special and loving and caring and gorgeous and fun and happy.”

Although the couple keeps their relationship mostly private, the actress didn’t miss Allen being named the NFL’s 2025 Most Valuable Player at the NFL Honors on Feb. 6. The couple made their red carpet debut at the event, where Steinfeld put her engagement ring on full display for the first time.

The actress wore a strapless black velvet gown and chic black pointed-toe pumps, paired with a diamond choker necklace and stud earrings that complemented the jewelry on her ring finger.

Just days later, Steinfeld gave fans another glimpse of her ring in anInstagrampost celebrating her fiancé’s achievement, writing, “That’s MVP Josh Allen to you!”
