Heard is already mom to 3½-year-old daughterOonagh Paige, whom she welcomed on April 8, 2021. When she revealed the news of Oonagh three months after her birth, Heardwroteon Instagram that she had “decided I wanted to have a child” four years prior and “wanted to do it on my own terms.”

“I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way,” she wrote at the time. “I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib.”

After that legal battle, the actress moved overseas to live a quieter life in Madrid, Spain.

With the trial behind her,Heard told NBC News' Savannah Guthrie in a June 2022 interviewafter the verdict that she was looking forward to focusing on her family: “I get to be a mom, like, full time, you know? Where I’m not having to juggle calls with lawyers.”

Sources told PEOPLE last year that the actress' decision torelocate abroad after the “chaos” and attention of the trialbecame overwhelming.

“The trial was beyond stressful, and she wanted to start fresh,” said one source at the time, adding that she now “has new energy and is focused on things that she loves.” Added another source: “She’s independent and smart. She needs to heal.”

Later in 2023, director Conor Allyn, who worked with Heard on the thrillerIn the Fire, told PEOPLE thestar was “living her best life in Spainwith her daughter and just finding happiness in that way.” The filmmaker added thatHeard is “such a dedicated mom” and"really good about making the time” for Oonagh.
