Danny DeVitowas honored in a big way earlier this week — andArnold Schwarzeneggerwouldn’t have missed it for the world.
On Monday, March 10, Schwarzenegger presented hisTwinscostar with the Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre at Roundabout Theatre Company in New York City.
“Last night, I had the opportunity to surprise my brother, @dannydevito, and be there to help present him with the Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre at @roundaboutnyc,” Schwarzenegger, 77, captioned aphoto carouselof himself and DeVito, 80, onstage at the ceremony.
“It didn’t matter that I filmed all day and had to throw on a jacket and hustle on stage. I had to be there, because he deserves to be celebrated,” added theTerminatoractor in his post on Tuesday, March 11, concluding, “Be there for your friends and family.”

The Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre honors “a legendary theatre performer or philanthropist,” with past recipients includingHelen Mirren,Audra McDonaldand the lateChristopher Plummer, per the companywebsite.
Schwarzenegger and DeVito, meanwhile, famously costarred in 1988’sTwins, a buddy comedy that centered around the pair as genetically engineered fraternal twins separated at birth. The movie grossed $111 million at the domestic box office upon its release and was the fifth-highest-grossing film released that year, perBox Office Mojo.
Five years later, the duo reunited in the 1994 comedyJunior,which also starredEmma Thompson. The previous year, in 1993’s Schwarzenegger-ledLast Action Hero, DeVito provided the voice of a cartoon cat detective.

DeVito firstteased a potential reunionwith Schwarzenegger in November 2023. Referencing the politician’s tenure leading California from 2003 to 2011, he joked toGQ, “We missedTwins 2, because [Arnold] became governor — which,he should have doneTwins 2instead of becoming governor."
The following March, DeVito told CNN that he and Schwarzenegger were “working on something, a project that we’regoing to do together, another movie.”
“We’re hoping that sooner [rather] than later, we’llhave a nice scriptto go to work,” theMatildastar added at the time.
