Beyoncéis joiningKamala Harrison the campaign trail as the 2024 presidential race nears the finish line, according to a new report fromThe Washington Post.
The 43-year-old superstar will reportedly appear in her hometown of Houston alongside Harris, 60, on Friday, Oct. 25, after months of suspense over whether she would formally weigh in on the Democratic nominee’s candidacy.
According to thePost, which cites people familiar with the planning of the rally, Beyoncé’s mother,Tina Knowles, and country music legendWillie Nelsonwill also make appearances. It’s still unclear whether the artists will perform — at a Democratic rally in Detroit earlier this week,Eminemintroduced former PresidentBarack Obama, but did not rap.

Beyoncé’s appearance will come months after Harris’first campaign videoin July featured her song “Freedom.”
In the video, Harris' narration draws a contrast between herself and former PresidentDonald Trump. “In this election, we each face a question,” she says in the ad. “What kind of country do we want to live in?”
“There are some people who think we should be a country of chaos. Of fear. Of hate,” Harris continues. “But us? We choose something different. We choose freedom.”

“We choose a future where no child lives in poverty. Where we all can afford health care. Where no one is above the law,” she says. “We believe in the promise of America and we are ready to fight for it. Because when we fight, we win. So join us.”
The ad ends with Beyonce’s lyrics, “I’ma keep running cause a winner don’t quit on themselves.”
Beyoncégave Harris rare permissionto incorporate “Freedom” into her campaign materials days after she entered the presidential race. Harris has repeatedly played it as a walk-in song on the campaign trail, including at the Democratic National Convention.
Additionally, Beyoncé reportedly shut downDonald Trump’s attempted usage of “Freedom” after Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for the former president,shared a video on his own X accountof Trump walking off a plane on Aug. 20 set to the track.
Rolling Stonereported on Aug. 21 that the Trump campaign did not have permission to use the song and that the singer threatened to send the Republican presidential nominee’s campaign a cease-and-desist.
Beyoncé has voiced her support for the Democratic Party on various occasions, including in 2013, when shesang the national anthematObama’s inauguration. In 2020, she also previouslyposted a social media clipencouraging voters to supportJoe Biden.
