The photos, spliced between imagined dialogue between the two characters, depict Lively and Jackman in a variety of scenes set in Monte Carlo — the interior of a casino, speeding down the streets on a vespa and lounging seaside to name a few.

In one shot, theGossip Girlalum perches on a ledge in a black Balenciaga catsuit, her hands full of glittering stolen gems.

Lively, who in the accompanying interview calls Luhrmann her “favorite director,” says she jumped at the chance to work with the Hollywood great.

“My life has become more intimate,” she told the outlet. “But when they said Baz will do it, I thought, Okay, I’ve always wanted to work with Baz. Even if it’s just a week doing a photo shoot forVogue,that’s still working with him. Seeing through his lens and how he tells stories."

In the casino scene, Lively wears adazzling necklacewith eight cushion and oval-shaped faceted Burmese rubies that previously belonged toElizabeth Taylor. The actress tellsVoguethat during the shoot, she had a foam mat below her “in case the necklace fell.”

Aside from its undeniable glamour, the photoshoot highlights the friendship between theA Simple Favoractress and Jackman, 55. The Australian actor is a longtime pal of Lively and her husband,Ryan Reynolds.

The Marvel stars recently premiered their new movie,Deadpool & Wolverine. On Tuesday, August 6, Lively celebrated her ownpremiere forIt Ends with Us, where Reynolds, 47, and Jackman supported the star on the red carpet.

In anInstagram post, Jackman called his collaboration with Lively a “full blown cinematic experience.”
