Charisma Carpenterisn’t defending herBuffy the Vampire Slayercharacter’s mean spirit!

“Ooh this is such an unpopular take,” Carpenter said, reacting to the theory on TikTok. “This is going to cause some controversy. You really think so, you really think Cordelia was a better friend to Buffy than the Scoobies?” she asked.

Carpenterstarred as Cordelia Chase inBuffy the Vampire Slayerwhich ran from 1997 to 2003, as well as the spin-off seriesAngel, whichran from 1999 to 2004.

And while Buffy and Cordelia had brief moments of friendliness and respect, they were often at-odds, whether it be related to homecoming court, boys' attention or even the attention of Buffy’s longtime love Angel (David Borenaz).

“Growing up is realizing this is absolutely true!” one person wrote. “Cordy saw Buffy as Buffy 1st, the Slayer 2nd. The Scoobies saw her as the Slayer and then as Buffy - and they always turned on B when things went wrong.”

“Having recently rewatched this back. Yes. Cordy and Tara were better friends than Willow and Xander,” another said.
