USA Todayreports that the ongoing hearing has not been going entirely in Kennedy Jr.’s favor as multiple senators challenged his beliefs on abortions, vaccines and prescription drug prices.

The hearing comes a day afterCaroline Kennedycame forward withscathing allegations against her cousin, calling him a “predator” and “unqualified” to lead the nation’s health policy.

In her shocking six-minutevideoshared to social media, she said, “I did not comment, not only because I was serving in a government position as United States Ambassador to Australia, but because I have never wanted to speak publicly about my family members and their challenges.”

“She’s so, so private and her speaking out — as harshly as she did — about her cousin is shocking,” this source said, calling it “a complete departure for her.”

Kennedy Jr. and Hines have yet to comment on Caroline’s statement.

In November, Kennedy Jr. shared anInstagrampost to express his appreciation towards Trump.

“Thank you @realdonaldtrump for your leadership and courage. I’m committed to advancing your vision to Make America Healthy Again,” he wrote. “We have a generational opportunity to bring together the greatest minds in science, medicine, industry and government to put an end to the chronic disease epidemic.”

Kennedy Jr. continued, “I look forward to working with the more than 80,000 employees at HHS to free the agencies from the smothering cloud of corporate capture so they can pursue their mission to make Americans once again the healthiest people on Earth.”
