Christian Siriano Reveals He Created Blue Ivy Carter’sMufasaPremiere Gown in 1 Day

Christian Sirianois spilling the behind-the-scenes details onBlue Ivy Carter’s recent red carpet moment.

The fashion designer, 39, spoke about one of his latest creations during a Monday, Jan. 13, appearance onToday with Jenna & Friends. The episode also markedJenna Bush Hager’s first solo fourth hour on the morning show following her longtime co-anchorHoda Kotb’s exit.

Actress and advocateTaraji P. Hensonjoined Hager, serving as the show’s first celebrity cohost. When Henson brought up the stunning gold ball gown he created for 13-year-old Blue Ivy at theMufasa: The Lion Kingpremiere on Dec. 9, the designer replied, “Yes, we made that in two days.”

He then clarified: “Actually, they’re probably going to kill me. We made it in, like, a day. Because when the team calls, you do it.”

“It’s so beautiful,” Henson replied. “I thought it was age-appropriate. She looked like a princess.“Hager added: “For anybody that says differently, we say, ‘Bye.’““Literally, I was like, what girl doesn’t want to have a princess moment?” Siriano said, referring to backlash from critics saying the ensemble was too mature for the preteen. “And when your parents areBeyoncéandJay-Z, what are you supposed to wear? You’re not gonna wear a tutu. You’re gonna look like a star.”

The designer also shared that the moment was “a lot of pressure” for Blue Ivy, adding, “She loves a ball gown and wanted to feel like a princess.”

Siriano, who created his eponymous label in 2008 after his win on season 4 ofProject Runway, gushed over Blue Ivy’s moment in the spotlight.

“Blue you look like a goddess and we loved making this for you!!” he wrote on Instagram alongsidea videoof the the teen and her superstar mom. Healso wrote: “Even when your mom is the most famous woman in the world she still will hold your train! Now that is beautiful and fabulous!”
