News of Escola’s return was announced on Tuesday, Feb. 25. It’ll be a homecoming for original cast membersConrad Ricamora(‘Mary’s Husband’) andJames Scully(‘Mary’s Teacher’) too, the pair reprising their roles in the production beginning that day as well.
That will reunite the entire original Broadway cast. Bianca Leigh (‘Mary’s Chaperone’) and Tony Macht (‘Mary’s Husband’s Assistant’) have remained in the absurdist comedy since it premiered at the Lyceum Theatre in New York City in June 2024.

It’s perfect timing, too. Experts predict the must-see play — which has been a critical and audience smash thanks to its nonstop laughs and hilarious performances — will be a big player at June’s 2025Tony Awards. Its Off-Broadway run last February earned Escola, 38, a slew of trophies, including the Obie, Drama Desk, Theatre World, and Outer Critics Circle awards.
Nominations for the Tonys, theater’s highest honor andthe “T” in EGOT, will be announced on May 1.

No matter what happens at the Tonys, the play has already founds its way into the record books. In the 121-year history of the Lyceum Theatre,Oh, Mary!is the first show to gross more than $1 million in a single week, and has since broken its own box-office record 11 times.
