A cuddly cat in Connecticut is about to find a new forever home after being surrendered toa shelterfor being “too affectionate.”
TheLittle Guild Animal Shelterin Cornwall recently posted an adorable video that’s since gone viral onTikTok, featuring an 8-year-oldcat called Ravi.
The Feb. 11 clip, which has been watched 12.6 million times and has over three million likes, shows the friendly feline leaving his cage and embracing an animal care specialist at the shelter.
“Ravi was surrendered for being ‘too affectionate,'” a caption over the video, set to Kimya Dawson’s “You Love Me,” reads.
As the shelter worker cuddles the cat, they bring the feline closer to the camera to show social media users his cute face.
The organization urged anyone interested in adopting the cat to fill out an adoption application, which many have done. According toCBS-affiliated station WFSB, over 160 people have contacted the shelter to offer Ravi a home.
“This cuddly 8-year-old boy wants a family that will love him unconditionally,” the TikTok clip’s caption adds.
In a follow-upTikTokvideo, a Little Guild Animal Shelter employee holds Ravi and tells the camera, “Hey, it’s us! We just wanted to say ‘Thank you’ for all of the love and support. We can not believe that this video blew up the way that it did.”
“He is obviously still here, but we do have a ton of interest in him,” the staff member adds, saying later, “We have gotten in over 100 applications for him, so he will find a home very shortly,”
“We are a very small shelter, so we only have one person who works on the applications, and it typically takes about five to seven business days for us to process one,” the worker continues in the second TikTok.
“If you put in an application for him, we are trying to work on it as quickly as possible. We only have one Ravi unfortunately, so not everyone’s gonna be able to get this sweet boy, but we do have other cats. There’s always more cats coming, who are just as sweet as this guy,” they add as Ravi purrs at the camera.

“There are so many deserving homeless cats and dogs waiting for their forever homes! The Little Guild is the largest no-kill shelter in Northwest Connecticut (also one of the oldest - we have been operating for over 60 years); any additional eyes on the available animals on our website or support of our mission is a huge help.
