The two adorably held each other’s hands while speaking with ABC’s George Pennacchio ahead of the97th Academy Awards, discussing the ceremony’shighly-anticipatedWickedperformanceas well as Erivo’s new single “Replay.”

Erivo, 38, did not offer many details about what audiences can expect from her andWickedco-star Ariana Grande except to say, “When you see it, you will know.” Goldberg, 69, helpfully popped in to add, “Just be patient!”

Nominated in the Best Actress category for her performance as Elphaba, Erivo did share her eagerness for people to see the movie’s sequel,Wicked: For Goodwhich hits theaters Nov. 21.

Erivo was also proud to discuss the recent release of her song “Replay,” which is her first solo single release since 2021.

“I’d love people to have a listen to replay because it’s as honest as I can possibly be,” Erivo said. “I think a lot of people might connect to what it’s saying, to how people feel sometimes when they can’t necessarily share. This might be a bit of a story everyone might have for themselves.”
