The father then picked up his son in an attempt to quiet him — but dropped him as he walked to the kitchen to prepare a bottle. Trice propped his son in a seated position and stepped away to use the bathroom, police said, but he returned to find the child “in distress,” according to the citation.
At that point, Trice called 911, according to the citation.
But he later pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge, theCourier Journaland WDRB reported. WDRB reported Trice entered an Alford plea, wherein a defendant doesn’t admit guilt but acknowledges there is enough evidence to convict him.
He was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Thursday, Dec. 19, in Jefferson Circuit Court.

“We were talking about the clothes that he got and what he was about to get him and stuff,” said Tunstill. “My sister and her boyfriend weren’t arguing or none of that.”
“I’m mad,” she said to the outlet in 2019. “I wouldn’t have ever thought this would happen to our family.”
