Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE aboutThe Umbrella Academy, Raver-Lampman recalledfilming the fourth and final seasonof the series while she was pregnant with her first child, calling the experience “really wonderful” as she ended one chapter to start another one.

“I was actually pregnant the entire season that we were filming,” she explained. “So I feel like I spent four seasons portraying this mother who was making all these insane decisions and sacrifices to get back to her child. And just as my time playing that mother ended, I was coming into my own journey of motherhood.”

“I think this season, specifically, will always be really important to me because even just watching, going back and watching the season, just knowing that there was a little human with me the whole time,” she continued, joking that playing Allison all of that time helped her learn “how to not make some decisions as a mom.”

“It was really wonderful to end that chapter and start my own version of motherhood,” Raver-Lampman added.
