“Ensemble, I believe that’s a French word that means, ‘Thank God I only have to work three days a week,’ " Duchovny said as he and Anderson took the stage. “It’s great to see you Gillian, you look, uh - " he continued, before Anderson cut him off. “Younger than you last saw me when we shot 218 episodes?” she asked.

“Yes, that’s exactly right, yes,” Duchovny said; the pair teamed up for a tag-team bit regarding how “timing” and “chemistry” makes for great drama that earned laughs from the audience. “We still got it. Hilarious! We did so good - we did that so well,” Anderson quipped, while Duchovny added, “Let’s see who that goes to - open it up, let’s see. Let’s get out of here as soon as we can.”

Duchovny and Anderson famously did not gel well at times duringThe X-Files'11-season run on Fox. The pair portrayed FBI agents Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson), who frequently encountered paranormal and extraterrestrial entities in their investigations into otherwise unsolvable cases known within the series as the X-Files.

The pair spoke about their time working together at length during Anderson’s November 2024 episode of Duchovny’sFail Betterpodcast. “There was a long time, working on the show, where we were just not even dealing with one another off-camera,” Duchovny recalled during that pocast episode. “And there was a lot of tension. Which didn’t matter, apparently, for the work cause we’re both f—— crazy, I guess. We could just go out there and do what we needed to do.”

“That is kinda crazy,” Anderson agreed. “I mean, it’s crazy that we were able to present on camera, you know, the various feelings and emotions and attraction and all that kind of stuff, but then not speak to each other for weeks at a time.”
