Donald Trump Tells 1000s of Biden Presidential Appointees 'You're Fired' via Social Media

On his first day back in office, PresidentDonald Trumpfired thousands of federal employees.

In apost to Truth Socialjust after midnight on Tuesday, Jan. 21, the 47th president issued an official dismissal to four officials, with the promise of more removals soon.

“Our first day in the White House is not over yet! My Presidential Personnel Office is actively in the process of identifying and removing over a thousand Presidential Appointees from the previous Administration, who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again,” Trump began.

“Let this serve as Official Notice of Dismissal for these 4 individuals, with many more, coming soon,” he continued. “Jose Andres from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, Mark Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council, Brian Hook from the Wilson Center for Scholars, and Keisha Lance Bottoms from the President’s Export Council—YOU’RE FIRED!”

Trump also shared the post on X. There, Andrés — the first official the president terminated via social media —sharedon the same platform that he beat Trump to the punch, and that since his two-year term was already up, he actually handed in his resignation one week earlier.

Andrés, a popular chef and restauranteur who has also appeared onTop ChefandSelena + Chef, reflected on his time as co-chair for the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition — an unpaid position, he added. He then applauded those who filled council positions alongside him as “hardworking, talented people who inspired me every day,” he wrote.

“I’m proud of what we accomplished on behalf of the American people… like a historic partnership between the White House and every major sports league to increase access to sports and health programs for kids,” Andrés wrote.

He continued, “May God give you the wisdom, Mr. President, to put politics and name calling aside…and instead lift up the everyday people working to bring America together. Let’s build longer tables….”
