It seems like time travel is going to be a part ofDonny Osmond’slive show.
On Wednesday, Feb. 5, the “Go Away Little Girl” musician, 67, shared anInstagram Reelwhere he revealed he’d be returning to the stage with a “co-star” — a ’70s avatar of himself.
“We are going to be making history together,” Osmond said in the clip. “Can you imagine sharing the stage with your 14-year-old self?”
“Well, it’s happening,” he declared. “Thanks to some mind-blowing AI and CGI technology, I’m going to be singing with Donny Osmond — you know, the one from 1972.”
The screen then cut to “an sample” of what fans might see, with Donny sitting beside a younger, AI version of himself.
Donny introduces himself as the “real” version, while the AI version of him claims he’s the “original” one.
He proceeds to interview his younger self: “What does it feel like to sing with yourself 50 years in the future?”
“Well, it’s kind of like singing with my grandpa,” the AI version of Donny remarks.
Donny then quips that he’s actually the AI-generated version’s “grandpa,” calling the AI version his “grandson ‘Daxton.'”
His co-star is actually then revealed to be his grandson Daxton, whose face reverts to his actual identity as they snap their fingers. “The future is so fun,” says the young performer.
“It’s incredible. This is something you don’t want to miss. Link to tickets is in bio, or you can go to Donny.com,” Donny says as the footage pans to him alone.
“Who wants to go back in time? 💜” he captioned the clip. “Thanks to some mind-blowing AI and CGI technology, I’ll be sharing the stage with young Donny from 1972. Tickets for@harrahsvegasare live! This is a moment you won’t want to miss.”
