Former Olympic Cyclist Daniela Larreal Chirinos Dies After Choking on Food: Report

Former Olympic cyclist Daniela Larreal Chirinos is dead after she choked on food in her Las Vegas apartment, reportsFox SportsandSpanish newspaper ABC. She was 50.

PEOPLE reached out to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Clark County Coroner’s Office for comment on Chirinos’ death.

The Venezuela Olympic Committee posted a tribute to Chirinosos onX (formerly Twitter)on Aug. 16.

She was a five-time Olympian, having competed in Barcelona in 1992, Atlanta in 1996, Sydney in 2000, Athens in 2004 and London in 2012.
