Fourth WingAuthor Rebecca Yarros Teases 'Amazing' First Scripts for TV Show Adaptation: 'Could Not Be Any Happier'

During a midnight release party for the third book in the Empyrean series on Monday, Jan. 20, authorRebecca Yarrosgave fans a glimpse of what to expect as her 2023 novel is being adapted into a television series.

“So I’ve read two versions of the script now and it is… Oh my God,” Yarros told fans, according to a clip posted onTikTokfrom theOnyx Stormrelease event.

“I love it,” Yarros continued, praisingAnne with an EcreatorMoira Walley-Beckett, whoVarietyannounced in July had been tapped as showrunner for the series, as “amazing.”

“Moira’s done such an amazing job capturing everyone’s voice and the dialogue that you guys love and just the energy and spirit of the book that I am … I could not be any happier,” she said. “It’s amazing.”

The author announced the adaptation news in October 2023, after “sitting on” it for nearly a year.

Yarros will also serve as an executive producer on the series, she shared in the post’s caption. “Words can’t portray just how excited I am and how grateful to work with such amazing people!“⁠

Since Walley-Beckett was confirmed as the showrunner last year, Yarros has not been shy about her excitement to see what theBreaking Badwriter comes up with. In a Decemberpostfrom a book signing event, she called her “brilliant” as she told fans: “TheFourth Wingshow is in the BEST hands with her! She’s exceptional and really knows and loves the same things about the series that you do!”
