Asked what’s next in his career in a Feb. 5 video interview with theWall Street Journal, Ford, 82, admitted he’s ready to “stop working” on camera.

After those projects? Ford has two activities in mind. “I’d like to spend more time flying,” said the airplane pilot. “I’d like to spend more time with my family at home.”

One big movie, however, is next on the horizon. Costarring withAnthony MackieinCaptain America: Brave New World, Ford plays U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, taking over theMarvel Cinematic Universerole from the late William Hurt.

“I’ve always wanted to work in different genres for different audiences,” he said of joining a comic book superhero movie. “When I have seen the Marvel movies that I’ve seen — I haven’t seen that many of them — I watched some really wonderful actors have a really good time. And I thought, hey, why not give me a piece of that?”

Captain America: Brave New Worldis in theaters Feb. 14. The second season of1923premieres on Paramount+ on Feb. 23. For his performance in creator-star Jason Segel’sShrinking, Ford is currently nominated for aCritics Choice Awardand twoScreen Actors Guild Awards.
