Cyclone Alfredis currently ramping up in Australia, where the 55-year-old rapper and actor is currently staying in a beachfront hotel — in the midst of unsafe weather conditions.
“I’m staying clear of it. It’s pretty cool, you know? I haven’t been through a cyclone before,” said Ice Cube in an interview onThe Project. “I can check this off my bucket list, for sure.”

Cyclone Alfred could result in 96 mph winds later this week, the outlet reported, and it’s then “expected to land as a category-two storm” near Brisbane. Rainfall could result in a total of more than 31 inches, per Reuters, and flash flooding could potentially become life-threatening.

“This is a very rare event for south-east Queensland,” said Queensland Premier David Crisafulli, according to the publication, noting that it’s “been many decades” since a cyclone last occurred in the area and encouraging residents to follow evacuation orders.
Ice Cube is scheduled to perform two Australian shows at the ICC Sydney Theatre in Sydney on March 7 and the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on March 9.
