The actress, 66, appeared at the Sunday, Feb. 23 award show in a black sequin Dolce & Gabbana gown teamed with a dramatic feathered bolero, plus black shoes and simple jewelry. During the Netflix pre-show, Curtis said that the look was “giving showgirl.”
Curtis is nominated alongside Monica Barbaro (A Complete Unknown),Danielle Deadwyler (The Piano Lesson),Ariana Grande (Wicked)and Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez).

In a January issue of PEOPLE, Curtis recalled going makeup-free and wearing only a sports bra and underwear on thecover ofMoremagazinein 2002.
The star explained that having “fallen prey” to unrealistic beauty standards influenced her decision to strip down for the photo shoot, which was also published without any retouches.

“I said, ‘I will do it if you do a picture of me with no makeup, no clothes, no styling, no hair, nothing,” Curtis shared. “And then you do me completely dressed up, fully made up, glammed out, and you tell how long it took, how much money it costs, how many people it took to get me to look like that.”

The Oscar winner added that she wanted to showcase the “power of telling the truth.”
“I have been a vocal critic, and we’ll go to my grave with it, that there is a cosmeceutical industrial complex telling women they are not enough without this bulls— idea of face augmentation, fillers, injections, lifts, all of the glow-ups that these women are doing,” she said.
She clarifies that anyone is “free to do whatever the f— they want” when it comes to their appearance, but hopes that people can feel equally empowered without touch-ups.
Curtis has been publicly supportive of her co-star Pamela Anderson’sjourney of going makeup-free, which she kicked off during Paris Fashion Week in September 2023.
“I started sobbing because it’s exactly what we should be doing,” theFreaky Fridayactress said of Anderson, 57. “I respect her so much for it."
