Jason Kelce Jokes He Tells His Daughters Cats Are ‘Poisonous’ So They Won’t Want One

Jason Kelceis not a cat person.

The retired Philadephia Eagles player, 36, shared on the latest episode of hisNew Heightswith Jason and Travis Kelcepodcast, released Sept 3, that he told his daughters that cats “are poisonous” in an attempt to stop them from bringing a feline home.

“You know what my latest plan to divert our family from getting a cat is? I just keep telling our girls that cats are poisonous,” Jason revealed, referring to his threedaughtersWyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 18 months, whom he shares with his wifeKylie Kelce.

“Why the f— would you tell them that?” his brotherTravis Kelce, 34, asked.

“… So that they don’t want cats,” explained Jason. “And I don’t have to deal with having a cat and make them terrified.”

“That’s sick,” Travis responded. Appearing unbothered, Jason said, “It’s whatever. They’ll find out — I think lying to your kids is important,” he jokingly added.

“Not in this regard,” Travis commented, laughing. “They’re gonna go over a friend’s house and f—ing scream bloody murder because they see a cat.”

“That’s fine. That sounds like that person’s house problem,” Jason continued.

Travis laughed some more as he labeled his big brother a “psycho” and said he was being “ridiculous.”

“I gotta get these kids on my side. Otherwise, I’m in a sinking ship,” Jason went on as he admitted his wife Kylie does not cosign his lies.

“Kylie is like, ‘They’re not poisonous. Your dad is lying to you,’ ” the father of three shared. “I’m like, listen, If you have a cat, the government will come and take it from you because it’s they’re so lethal that I mean, they can kill you … and they don’t even have to bite you. Just them licking you.”

Despite growing up with cats, the retired NFL star shared that as he’s gotten older he no longer likes the furry companions.

“I just don’t want a cat,” Jason continued. “I don’t want another animal in the house. My dogs have already ruined the furniture.”

Jason finally added that cats are “fine if they stay outside,” before coming up with the compromise of having an outdoor cat should his girls still want one.

“I’ll do an outdoor cat. I’m okay with an outdoor cat,” he added.

“No, here’s the deal, I told Jason that I want to get a cat,” Kylie said. “And he told me no. And I feel like you might like cats now.”

“What color cat do you want?” Travis replied.

“I don’t want you to send a cat. I just want you to get on my team here,” Kylie told her brother-in-law, adding that she asked because she thought Travis “might like cats now.”
