Jason Tartickhas welcomed a new family member!

TheBachelorettealum, 36, revealed onInstagramthat he is now part of a “family of two” after adopting a dog fromWags and Walks Nashville.

Tartick showed the sweet moment he finally got to call the new canine his own in a short video about the adoption process set to Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years.” In the video, he could be seen signing some papers to officially adopt his furry best friend with the words “rescue day” written over it.

A worker could then be seen placing a sticker on the daily schedule above the golden retriever mix’s kennel that read, “Adopted with Love,” before letting the excited pup out of his kennel. She then led him out to greet Tartick, but wasn’t able to go all the way, as the dog immediately sprinted into the reality star’s arms and gave him several puppy kisses.

He could be seen giving the dog a huge hug and playing with the pup and giving him plenty of pets. The video ended with the two smiling widely as they sat together beneath an adoption sign and him getting the dog safely into his car as he held the canine’s paw.

“Not sure who rescued who, but we got each other! Thank you@wagsandwalksnashville,” Tartick captioned the video.

He shared additional photos of his “new best buddy” in a separate Instagrampost, including a sweet snap of the pair hugging on the floor and the dog putting his paw in Tartick’s hand. He noted that the canine needed “a name” and while he had a “few favorites,” he wanted to hear fans’ “ideas.”

“We are thrilled to have helped Jason find his forever pup!,” said Wags & Walks Executive Director Kathryn Hurley Dhall. “At Wags & Walks, we believe every rescue dog has a perfect match, and seeing them find that connection makes our work so rewarding. Jason’s decision to adopt not only changes his dog’s life forever but also helps raise awareness about the importance of giving rescue dogs a second chance.”

The dog rescue organization said Tartick had reached out about volunteering at their adoption center in Nashville. During his volunteer shift the next day, he helped with daily enrichment and walking the dogs — and eventually met the golden retriever mix that he would later adopt.

The reality star shared on Instagram that the day he chose to volunteer at the rescue “was the same day they picked” up the canine “from the local shelter.” He added that “the connection was instant” between him and the pup, which led him to return to officially adopt the dog.

“The rescue named him “Rango,” which I like, but I’m considering something different. Let me know what names you think would work for him!,” Tartick wrote.
