Jennifer Anistonlends her voice to a heartwarming new film starring newcomerPhoebe-Rae Taylor.
PEOPLE has the exclusivefirst trailerforOut of My Mind, about Melody Brooks (Taylor), a nonverbal middle school student with cerebral palsy.
Aniston, 55, voices Melody’s inner monologue, and the teaser at one point has her point out: “Obviously this isn’t my voice. I can’t talk. And I can sound like whoever I want — so I picked Jennifer Aniston.”
A synopsis for the film, based on author Sharon M. Draper’s 2010novel, says Melody “has a quick wit and a sharp mind, but because she is nonverbal and uses a wheelchair she is not given the same opportunities as her classmates.”
But “when a young educator notices her student’s untapped potential and Melody starts to participate in mainstream education, Melody shows that what she has to say is more important than how she says it.”

“I hope people take away from this film that there are endless ways to communicate with each other, but we’ll never get to better understanding until and unless we make the time to stop, wait and listen — and value what we discover as a result,” Sealey says.
