Thesecasual-cool pantsare on the fast track to be the new ‘it’ style.
Track pants emerged as one of the style frontrunners last year withOprahand other stars throwing in the towel on tight pants and substituting them for the sporty-stylish bottoms.Jennifer Lawrence, for example, wore pairsin both Apriland November, the latter of which came after sheannounced her pregnancy.
In the spring,Sarah Jessica Parkerpaired a cropped version withhot pink block heels, whileBrooke Shieldswore hers with somecushy Cariuma shoesduring a travel day. In other words, track pants have left their mark.

Track pants are a triple threat: They usually come with some sort of sporty stripes, which spruces them up and gives them character. Plus, they can be worn on, well, a track, among other places, so we know they’re ultra-functional and comfortable to boot. They also just look way more lounge-worthy than a pair of jeans.
Spanx
$148$89 at Spanx
Luckily, these Spanx track pants were just added tothe brand’s sale section, so they’re an impressive $59 off. One shopper said “the fabric feels like butter on your skin,” while a second person noted that they’re “quite flattering with the stripes.” And what’s more, they have the sameeditor-loved fitas theOprah-approvedAirEssentials Wide-Leg Pants.
Amazon
$46$40 at Amazon
These now-$40 track pants are a good starter pair to try out if you’re not sure whether they would fit into your current style. They have a loose silhouette that’s more of a straight-leg cut, and the pockets have zippers, so you can go purse-less like Oprah. Plus, they’re quick-drying, so if all else fails and you only end up wearing them for workouts, they’re equally suited for that.
Adidas
$75 at Adidas.com
What would a roundup of track pants be without a pair from Adidas? It’s the brand Lawrence appeared to be wearing in at least one of the two outings. This pair looks nice and breezy and even hasfront seams— something Lawrence and others like Pamela Anderson have been running full-speed toward — and surprisingly, is less expensive than some of the others we found.
Adidas also makesslimmer pairs, too, if you like the way Sarah Jessica Parker jumped aboard the trend. They fit a little bit more like leggings but not in a skin-tight way.
