Jerry O’Connellhas a candid response ready for those surprised he’smarriedtoRebecca Romijn.

A user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote O’Connell, 50, a somewhatforward replyto a post from the actor consisting of pictures of him and Romijn, 51. “Wait you’re married to her? The fat kid from Stand By Me is married to Mystique?” the X user wrote.

“Not what went out on our wedding invitations but yes. Yes I am,”quippedO’Connell, quote-tweeting the post referring to him as a “fat kid.”

“So sick of this hate,” he wrote in the post. “Finally got @RebeccaRomijn to deal with it. You like?”

O’Connell and Romijntied the knotin an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles in July 2007 after meeting in 2004.

“I get very nervous when I have to take my wedding ring off,” O’Connell told PEOPLE later that year. “But I have to everyday at work, so I safetypin it to my underwearso I’ll never forget it.”

The happy couple sharetwin daughters, 16-year-olds Dolly and Charlie. The proud parentscelebratedthe kids’ birthday in September.
