Katie Gaudreau, the sister of late hockey starJohnny Gaudreau, is remembering the good times with her brother.
“One summer night…. John, Mer, Devin, and I bought matching sweatshirts (John obviously bought). John pretended to fake fight me at The P @princetonavnj . The bouncer went to kick him out not knowing it was a joke,” Katie captioned the post alongside a photo of her with Johnny and friends.
She noted how she stuck up for her brother, resulting in the “best night ever.”
“I proceeded to cry (not surprised) and try to explain how we are brother and sister and were just joking, he didn’t care. I said to the bouncer “you kick him out… you kick me out”… well he kicked me out. Mer and Dev were over our nonsense but took the trip to Sea Isle to crash Kristen’s friends bachelorette party,” she wrote.
Meredith joined in on the fun underneath Katie’s post, adding a playful dig at her late husband.
“Shoulda been kicked out for socks and sandals to the bar,” said Meredith.
Katie, Meredith and the entire Gaudreau family have been supporting each other after the tragic deaths of Johnny and Matthew on Aug. 29.

The familyrecently returned from a trip to Calgary, where they watched Johnny’s two former teams — the Calgary Flames and the Columbus Blue Jackets — face each other on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
The teams held a special pre-game ceremony for Johnny, with Meredith and their two kids, daughter Noa, 2, and son Johnny, who turns 1 in February, dropping the puck. Meredith also shared that she got a tattoo of her husband’s signature while in Calgary.
“I thought it would be cool to say that I did that in Calgary because that is where his autograph really took off,” she explained in an interview withSportsnet. “It’s like, this is where it all began.”
Johnny, 31, and Matthew, 29, were killed when Sean M. Higgins, suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, hit them while they were biking in Oldmans Township, N.J., just after 8 p.m. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
