The comedian — who had a small role in the movie as a guard at Arkham Asylum — spoke about the movie-musical sequel during an appearance onThe Joe Rogan Experiencepodcast’s Nov. 6 episode, calling it “the worst film ever made.”
Despite2019’sJokerwinning two Oscars, the sequel has had a"disappointing" run at the box office.

Dillon also claimed that the sequel had “no plot,” recalling when he spoke with others on the set about the storyline.
“We would sit there, me and these other guys were all dressed in these security outfits because we’re working at the Arkham Asylum, and I would turn to one of them and we’d hear this crap and I’d go, ‘What the f— is this?’ And they’d go, ‘This is going to bomb, man.’ I go, ‘This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen.’ "

“We were talking about it at lunch, and we’d go, ‘What is the plot? Is there a plot? I don’t know, I think he falls in love with her in the prison?’ It’s not even hate-watchable. That’s how terrible it is,” Dillon continued.

PerRotten Tomatoes, a synopsis details that the film follows “Arthur Fleck [Phoenix] institutionalized at Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon true love [à la Gaga as Harley Quinn], but also finds the music that’s always been inside him.”
Joker 2received a 32 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes from 349 reviews, earning poor reviews despite its star power and the success of its predecessor.
The CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery released a statement following the film’s underwhelming box office performance. “Even in an industry of hits and misses, we must acknowledge that our studios business must deliver more consistency,” David Zaslav said, perThe Hollywood Reporter.
