When it comes toSabrina Carpenter,Julia Michaelsis one of her biggest fans!
PEOPLE caught up with the singer-songwriter at the2025 Grammys, where she spoke exclusively about why she was excited to be at the event.
“I’m so excited. I’m always so happy to be here and get to root for my friends. And Sabrina is nominated for album [of the year] tonight, and if she wins, it’ll be my first Grammy,” says Michaels. “So fingers crossed. I believe in her so much.”

She won her first Grammy during the preshowin the best pop solo performance category for “Espresso.”
Michaels tells PEOPLE she’s “fully aware of the fact that I’m here [at the Grammys] because of her.”
“I just want to love on her all night,” she says. “I love her so much. I’m so happy for her.”
The multi-hyphenate also gave PEOPLE insight into how she pens a song.

“Sometimes I never know what I’m gonna walk into. I could be in, like, the best mood ever,” she continues. “And someone’s like, ‘Oh, I broke up with my boyfriend today.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, let me rework my brain, my body, to be here for you in this moment.’ "
“So it really just depends. For myself, I write a lot of things down — a lot of things. I got a laundry list of people and places and things and definitely draw inspiration from conversations,” she adds.
