Kamala Harriscalled out a Fox News interviewer on the air after the network played a misleading clip ofDonald Trumpto try and prove a point.

“Oh, God, I would never say that about the American people,” Harris, 59, responded. “And in fact, if you listen to Donald Trump, if you watch any of his rallies, he’s the one who tends to demean and belittle and diminish the American people. He’s the one who talks about an ‘enemy within’ … talking about the American people. Suggesting he would turn the American military on the American people.”

“They were saying I was threatening, I’m not threatening anybody,” Trump, 78, said in the clip that Harris was shown. He then claimed that he has been the victim of “weaponization of government.”

What the clip left out is that seconds before Trump told Harris Faulkner that he wasn’t threatening anybody, he had doubled down on his rhetoric against the “enemy from within,” saying that a “strong president” is needed to “handle” anti-MAGA Democrats, whom he described as “sick” and “evil.”

“That’s not what you just showed in all fairness and respect to you,” the vice president added.

“I’m telling you that was the question we asked him,” Baier responded before Harris insisted, “No, no, that’s not what you showed.”

Harris continued her point, saying, “Here’s the bottom line: he has repeated it many times, and you I both know that, and you and I both know that he’s talked about turning the American military on the American people.”

“He has talked about locking people up because they disagree with him. This is a democracy, and in a democracy, the president of the United States in the United States of America should be willing to be able to handle criticism without saying he’d lock people up who do it,” she said.

Sams added. “What Donald Trump is promising is dangerous, and returning him to office is simply a risk Americans cannot afford.”

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris debate

Harris' interview with Baier on Oct. 16 comes as the Trump campaign has accused his opponent of playing it safe with her media appearances.

Aiming to dispel false rumors from MAGA supporters that the former prosecutor cannot speak without a teleprompter and colludes with media outlets to get questions in advance, Harris has adopted a more aggressive media schedule in recent weeks.

The Harris campaign’s goal with the Fox News sit-down was to demonstrate that the vice president is willing to get in the hot seat on a conservative network and defend her campaign. Trump, meanwhile, has turned down debate invitations and interviews with left-leaning journalists in recent weeks, and canceled an upcoming interview with CNBC after previously agreeing to participate.
