Kamala Harris 'Very Proud' to Have Taylor Swift's Endorsement: 'I Really Respect the Courage That She Has Had'

Kamala Harrissays she’s “very proud” to haveTaylor Swift’s endorsement of her presidential campaign.

In a sit-down interview withWIREDposted on Friday, Sept. 20, Harris, 59, answered “the web’s most-searched questions” about her. When she revealed a Google search for “Kamala Harris Taylor Swift,” the vice president revealed that she was “very proud to have the support” of the 34-year-old pop superstar.

“She’s an incredible artist,” Harris continued. “I really respect the courage that she has had in her career to stand up for what she believes is right.”

Despite their aligning politics, Harris joked that she and Swift don’t have a lot in common when it comes to the NFL teams they root for. “But we were on different sides of the Super Bowl last year,” she said, nodding to Swift’s commitment to boyfriendTravis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs.

“I am a 49ers fan, but who’s mad at anyone for being loyal to their team, right?” the politician quipped.

“It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” Swift wrote. “It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

After vowing to cast her vote for Harris, Swift wrote that the vice president “fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” calling her a “steady-handed, gifted leader” and applauding her decision to chooseMinnesota Gov. Tim Walzas her running mate.
