Kate Winslethad a recent reunion with one of herTitaniccast members.TheMare of Easttownstar, 49, revealed during the latest episode ofThe Graham Norton Showthat she ran into the cast member during a recording session at London’s Abbey Road studio for the score of her drama filmLee,in which she worked as both an actress and a producer.“When we were there, I was looking through the glass into the stage where all the musicians are — [a] huge, 120-piece orchestra — and I’m looking at this violinist and I thought, ‘I know that face,’ ” she recalled.“And then the day goes on and a few of the musicians start going, ‘It’s [him].’ And they sort of point at him,” Winslet added, mimicking the gesture.Jonathan Evans-Jones as Wallace Hartley in ‘Titanic.'.CBS via GettyWinslet said she tried to think of where she had seen the violinist before, and even questioned whether she was “related” to him. She said she eventually learned their connection when she went down to the orchestra at the end of the day to talk with him.“So I went in and he went, ‘Kate, it’s me.’ And you know when theTitanicis going down and the violinist stands up and he goes, ‘Come on, lads,’ and he starts playing. She has even weighed in on a controversial scene which has had fans questioning whether DiCaprio’s characterJack Dawsoncould have fit on top of a door she was also on as the boat was sinking.When asked if there was “room on the door” for Jack, theRevolutionary Roadactress replied, “I thought, ‘He’s busting out theTitanicquestion and next he’s gonna ask me about the door.’ I absolutely knew it.”“But, you know, what I will say that’s really interesting is people keep referring to it as a door. It actually wasn’t even a door,” Winslet explained on Australian talk showThe Projectearlier this month. “It’s a piece of bannister, like stairway or something, that had broken off.”“Who knows if [Jack] could’ve [fit] on there or not. Honestly, I don’t have any insights here that anyone else hasn’t already tried to figure out,” she added.
